Welcome to OpenStudy! Even tho' "everybody does it," just posting a problem, without your having done any work on it, is not acceptable. Won't you please think of what you'd have to do to solve this problem? Hint: The sum of the three intereior angles of a triangle is always 180 degrees. How can you use this info to solve this problem?
x+(3x-16)+(x+6)=180
x=38
@mathmale
What do you need? Knowing when you are done is part of the process.
Thanks for sharing your work. You've found that x=38 (degrees). Go back to the original question / illustration, and substitute 38 for x in every place you see x. Now add up the 3 interior angles. Is your sum = to 180 deg? If so, your 38 deg is correct.
Yes, thank you
You're welcome!
Weird.. it says the answer is 98.
Is that x = 98 or 3x-16 = 98? Always reread the problem statement and make sure you know what it is you are answering.
