Calculus1 15 Online
OpenStudy (babu):

I'm really interested to have a good working knowledge in calculus. If anyone would guide me on what prerequisite knowledge do I need to get started and how to know that I'm prepared for calculus, I would highly appreciate their help. Thank you in advance.

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

Well if you are interested in calculus... the only way to get good at it is to practice a lot. I would recommend finding work books online where you can look at practice problems and than you can start working problems out. Also, I hope you don't die lol.

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

JK calc is fine. It's just like any upper level math class... if you did well in other math classes you will be alright. There are also free lecture videos online that you can watch to reinforce concepts.

imqwerty (imqwerty):

Learning how to find limits, continuity, differentiability is important and basic and you also need to have a good grasp of functions.

OpenStudy (babu):

thank you, sunnystrong and imqwerty! but what is JK calc? I'm not familiar with abbreviations.

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

jk= just kidding. calculus isn't that bad. it's fun

imqwerty (imqwerty):

Yeah calc is fun! :)

OpenStudy (babu):

thanks to all of you! just one last question, is there any any book in mind that you would like to refer? Is paul's online math notes enough to learn it by myself?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

MIT's OpenCourseWare on YouTube is one of my favorite resources for Calculus. Really good instruction.

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

go on amazon and look for calculus workbooks. read reviews. there's dozens of them. i feel like if you really wanted to you could teach yourself online using online youtube videos/khan academy and workbooks. (:

OpenStudy (babu):

Thanks to all of you, again!
