we could do process of elimination

D says 5 quarters in the bowl on week 1,

let w=1

you get q(w)=3
hence D can not be correct

C says quarters were added to the bowl for 5 weeks, but this is not true, it does not state how many weeks we will do this

B says on week 1, the value of the quarters was 5$
but this can not be true, when w=1, q(w)=3
3 quarters is not 5 dollars

A says 5 quarters are added weekly

let w=1
q(w)=3

let w=2
q(w)=8

let w=3

q(w)=13

etc

the common difference is 5, meaning 13-8=5
8-3=5

and everything after this will be a difference of 5

hence you add 5 each week
