OpenStudy (pinknabastak):

ASTRONOMY! PLEASE HELP! Why is the halo of the galaxy the most important part of the galaxy?

OpenStudy (osprey):

I'm no astro but maybe the key word here is "important" Maybe it's because the halo contains the most astro/cosmo information - spectral lines etc ?

OpenStudy (osprey):

spectral lines give info on structures and also on the movements of stars etc. A halo may, when seen through a spectrometer - optical or otherwise - show structures and movements.
