OpenStudy (kaleb21):

Apart from its length, what else makes a short story different from a novel?

OpenStudy (wanell):

short stories are structured differently.. novels have time to explore the full three-act structure but in a short story you often only have space to write a segment of the three-act structure. Also short stories are about one character. Novels have more room to explore the lives of several characters.

OpenStudy (breanna1999):

Short stories tend to focus mainly on a single character while a novel will describe the actions of several.

OpenStudy (animalover02):

Well a novel is different from a short story because...a novel is a whole book , which is a long story and the other is just a short story. hope i helped!
