three questions help fast?!https://static.k12.com/nextgen_media/assets/8080344-NG_IMC_SemA_05_UT_09.png Is the system of equations is consistent, consistent and coincident, or inconsistent? y=−12x+3y=4x+2

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

@sammixboo

OpenStudy (gigi1103):

y= -1/2+3 y =4x +2

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

-1/2+3?

OpenStudy (gigi1103):

thats how it was written i get this stuff but not these

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

what the actual flutter is y = -1/2 + 3 on a graph with a scaling slope

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

You're missing the 'x' in -1/2, mate

OpenStudy (gigi1103):

OH my bad when i re wrote it i forgot to put it

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Because they intersect at one point, this graph is considered consistent. Coincident is infinite many solutions and inconsistent is when they do not intersect at all. The slope is the same

OpenStudy (gigi1103):

thanks can you help with two more?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Ya

OpenStudy (gigi1103):

What is the solution to the system of equations? Use the substitution method to solve. 6=−4x+y−5x−y=21

OpenStudy (gigi1103):

6=-4x+y -5x-y=21

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Can you separate that ples

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

y = 4x + 6 -5x - (4x + 6) = 21 -5x - 4x - 6 = 21 -9x = 27 x = -3

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

You should really learn to do Substitution for when you get into Pre-Cal and do 3 dimensional planes

OpenStudy (gigi1103):

well I can do it but I'm better when it gives me the numbers to plug in I don't get how you just find numbers to plug in

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Point is to solve for "y" or "x" to then substitute that into the other equation Make it so that: \( \sf \color{red}{y} = blah \) and then in -5x - \( \sf \color{red}{y}\) = 21 -5x - \( \sf \color{red}{blah} \) = 21

OpenStudy (gigi1103):

thanks!
