What is the area of the triangle in the diagram?

I responded to the same question earlier. I don't know whether that was your post or someone else's. In either case, you'd do well to use either the Pythagorean Theorem or the Distance Formula (they're practically the same thing) to find the length of each of the shorter sides of this right triangle.
