I assume that since you have a length and width, you are dealing with a rectangle. The length is 5/3 the width. Let w = the width. Since the length is 5/3 the width, what is the length in terms of w? The area of a rectangle is the length times the width. Once you have the expression for the length, multiply it by the width and set the product equal to the given area. Then solve for w.
