This is the first site I visited that make me feel like stupid, I mean I meet with incredible question that I even don't know how to answer. And yeah I like difficult question because that's make me wondering how to answer it. I don't know if questions on brainly.us are same but my country's brainly doesn't has question at college level. What I want to said is openstudy is one of the best social learning network. It should be preserved and developed.

Indeed OpenStudy's structure is the best for higher levels of interaction between students, but the fact that it is closing seems to be non-negotiable... many of us have attempted to ask them how much we would have to pay in order to save this site, but they refused to answer or even acknowledge our pleas.

@jigglypuff314 You mean openstudy has investors, but its investors had left. On the other side, we are lack of fund from asker who payed as a volunteer. So openstudy will shutting down?

Very few people know about the specifics, I am not one of those people.

My understanding of the situation is that the investor, by investing, has a large portion of ownership of OpenStudy. At the time they were investing in OpenStudy, they had also invested in Brianly.

Seeing that OpenStudy was not incurring enough revenue to their standards (for them to earn back their investment). They exchanged their ownership portion of OpenStudy to brainly for a sum of money. Brainly therefore acquired OpenStudy.
Brainly, seeing this opportunity, attempted to ship OpenStudy's userbase to their own website, with the intention of sooner or later shutting OpenStudy down.

I had a feeling it would come to this. I feel so bad for OpenStudy because it's been where I've grown and learned to respect others over the internet in a formal and informal manner. I, as in opinion, but realize it's already been done, I believe allowing Brainly to take over was not the proper decision. Yes, the site may be losing funds but in the back of my head I believed there was a better way to get through this, not to just let some other site take over, that eventually would want it's own site to prosper and leave the older, more mature site behind. I will miss you all, and wish you all the best!
