How did Hagia Sophia combine both Greek and Roman architectural elements?

I have no idea who that is, but when i think of roman architecture, i think of the roman arch. You have seen it, it is very notorious to the Colosseum. When i think of Greek architecture, i think of pillars/columns. You can see these all around the temple of the gods.
