The last sentence before the Parts bit can be summarised as
\(\Delta I = -0.025 I ~ \Delta x\)
which in calculus terms is
\(\dfrac{dI}{dx} = -0.025 I \), an exponential solution
The new-improved version can be summarised as:
\(\Delta I = - 3 \Delta x\)
which in calculus terms is
\(\dfrac{dI}{dx} = -3 \), a linear solution

@sunnnystrong

i dont understand his way but if you do the same way just start from there
OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):
I will try my best to help :D

okay so it can be a function
OpenStudy (itrymath):
f(x)=1200(2.5)^x
OpenStudy (itrymath):
but thr light decreases so wouldnt that be 1-2.5?
OpenStudy (itrymath):
f(x)=1200(-1.5)^x
OpenStudy (irishboy123):
i can add your pdf to the banter, but it won't help :)

sunny
i answered the thing!! yes, **clearly** it can !!
OpenStudy (itrymath):
Part A: yes this can be described as a function since it has all the following to properly graph on a graph .

@sunnnystrong @ItryMath
the verbalese in that question is excruciating.... completely
if you can rip it into math, think you are on a sounder footing
but i think you need to be happy with that, yerself :)
OpenStudy (irishboy123):
@sunnnystrong tu!
OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):
Yeah the way the phrased things.... don't really know where to start :/
OpenStudy (itrymath):
im confused ,brb going to go through a quick sezuire
OpenStudy (itrymath):
@IrishBoy123 explain me in the simplest way possible please

let me go back and look at the words, forgive the typo's:
"If 1200 Lumens of light enters the cable, the intensity decreases by 2.5% per metre of cable"
OpenStudy (itrymath):
yes
OpenStudy (itrymath):
how about 1200-(2.5)^x
OpenStudy (irishboy123):
Ok so we might say that:
\(\Delta I\) is somehow related to "other stuff"
OpenStudy (itrymath):
whats TriangleI mean?

whats I stand for
OpenStudy (itrymath):
other stuff?
OpenStudy (irishboy123):

remember that idea ??!!
OpenStudy (itrymath):
yes

OpenStudy (itrymath):
okay start explaing for part A if you dont mind
OpenStudy (itrymath):
