OpenStudy (vijeya3):

calculate the difference between in the temperature between the wate at the top and bottom of a water fall 200 m high.Specific heat of water is 4200J Kg^-1C^-1

OpenStudy (mrnood):

The loss in PE of 1kg of water falling this distance is mgh This energy ids mostly converted to heat - we assume in htis case that it ALL is so when oyu know the energy lost for 1kg you can use Q = c m (T2-T1) (Q = energy added) c = Specific heat capoacity T2 = final temperature T1 = initial temperature (hint it is T2-T1 that is your answer, i.e the change in temperature)
