I was specifically suggesting that you read up on the definitions of those properties.  It won't help you much in the long run if I define them for you; you need to be able to search for this info on your own.

Why not try simplifying this by yourself?      (6.1 − 4.5) − 2.5 + 3.9

Compare your answer to the one stated in the problem.  What do you have to do first, according to "order of operations" rules?
