it's about the benefits of the 3D ultrasound, and I'm kinda stuck. Here's what I have so far:


The 3D ultrasound has many advantages to society. These advantages are not just for pregnant mothers. Additionally, they provide more detailed information to physicians so that the best care, diagnosis, and treatments can be provided. While the 3D ultrasound is relatively new, it is becoming more advantageous as it’s many different uses become obvious in many different medical fields. The 3D ultrasound has saved hundreds of lives because it shows the expectant mother that it is actually a baby growing inside of her, and she may change her mind about aborting him/her after seeing the ultrasound.

Ultra Sonics/sound (US) (very high frequency "sound" waves - possibly a dog could hear them ?) seems to be a medical technique of rapidly growing interest and imortance.
There was recently an item on BBC news about ultrasonic brain surgery. It seems that if you set up your ultrasonics correctly, then you can "fire" them at nasties in the brain, destroy said nasties, and allow a bloke who once had the shakes/tremors to show a "steady hand".

US probably could compete (and maybe win ?) with radio therapy, since there are no RADIOACTIVE nasties so that the patient presumably doesn't get as sick as they would under radiotherapy.

I think that US is also "non intrusive", in the sense that you don't seem to need knives, scalpels, needles or things.

The pregnancy point is a good one. US with a spot of electronic imaging, seems to be able to provide a "video" of the foetus/embryo as it is growing.
