Find the value of sin 34°. Round to the nearest ten-thousandth A) 0.6745 B) 0.829 C) 0.5592 D) 0.5291 I think its C but I'm not sure

OpenStudy (mathmale):

How did you arrive at your answer? What would it take to make you "sure" of it?

OpenStudy (amazingkenma):

use a calculator and do sin34 which equals 0.5592

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Then why are you not sure?

OpenStudy (amazingkenma):

I wasn't sure I was doing it right

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

@amazingkenma you just use your calculator haha

satellite73 (satellite73):

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=sin(34+degrees)

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

I think it's C too haha

OpenStudy (amazingkenma):

it was C

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$0.559192 = 0.5592$$

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Practice anything you're not sure of. That's one way of building confidence in your ability to solve problems, use the calculator, and so on. You could double check some types of answers by going online. For example, go to wolframalpha (as satellite73 has already directed you) and type in sin 34. If the answer you get from that source matches the answer you got from your calculator, you know you're certainly on the right track.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

^ and don't forget to use "degrees"!!! :D
