OpenStudy (macaylam):

please help (8^3)^7 = 8^n n= I know that (8^3)^7 equals 3584 but I don't know how to find the exponent of 8

OpenStudy (breanna1999):

Wouldn't it be 3 times 7?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

The trick here is to modify the given equation so that the base on each side is 8. How would you re-write (8^3)^7 so that the base is 8?

OpenStudy (macaylam):

I think N is 3.935 after trying to work through it but I'm not sure

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Left side: 8^( ?? ) = Right side: 8^n

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Important: review "rules of exponentiation."
