Mathematics 8 Online
OpenStudy (reagan18):

Two cards are drawn at random from a standard deck of 52 cards, without replacement. What is the probability that both cards drawn are hearts? (There are 13 hearts in a standard deck of cards.)

OpenStudy (royalranger):

Any ideas on the first draw?

OpenStudy (reagan18):

2/52?

OpenStudy (royalranger):

No. There are a total of 13 hearts inside a 52 card deck.

OpenStudy (reagan18):

2/13? o 13/52 im confused and it has to be a percentage

OpenStudy (reagan18):

this is a online class so i didnt really learn alot

OpenStudy (royalranger):

13/52 for the first draw. How about the second draw?

OpenStudy (tarnett1):

13 out of 52 i agree

OpenStudy (reagan18):

wouldnt you do 13/52 times 100? @tarnett1

OpenStudy (reagan18):

i got 25 percent

OpenStudy (royalranger):

Yea. Or 13/52 simplifies to 1/4. Which we all know is 25 percent.

OpenStudy (reagan18):

thanks :)
