Help??

OpenStudy (isabelle99):

If log M/N=4 and log P/N=7, what can you say about the relationship between M and P

OpenStudy (hafeda):

\[\log M - \log N = 4\] \[\log P - \log N = 7\] Subtract both equation we have as follow : \[\log M - Log P = -3\] (Log N will cancel out from both ) \[\log \frac{ M }{ P } = -3\] \[\frac{ M }{ P } = 10^{-3}\] \[\frac{ M }{ P } = \frac{ 1 }{ 1000 }\] (Now cross multiply ) \[P = 1000M\]

OpenStudy (hafeda):

Also u can divide the 2 equation and it will cancel out log N that way as well so it will look like this : \[\log (\frac{ P }{ N })/\frac{ M }{ N } \] this is a complex fraction which will change to multiplication and be inverse of the 2nd fraction as follow: \[\log (\frac{ P }{ N }) \times \frac{ N }{ M } = \log \frac{ P }{ M }\]

OpenStudy (isabelle99):

okay thank you

OpenStudy (hafeda):

your welcome shot me a medal JK
