The MAIN five types of figurative language are Similes, Metaphors, Hyperbole, Personification, and Allusions. Basically you have to find three of these in the story and explain how it all brings together the theme of the passage. Here are 3 but I will allow you to think about HOW they help the theme. 1. The sun has hidden itself in a bank of clouds fluffy as the eiderdown her mother had wrapped her in as a child. 2. Bags and people tumbled around like mad acrobats 3. The train lay in pieces, scattered around like a toy tossed by a child. There may be more as well
