OpenStudy (kkluesn1):

Complex numbers can be graphed on the real xy coordinate plane. True or false?

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

Does imaginary numbers you Cartesian coordinates?

OpenStudy (bookishdreamer):

I think I would say false

OpenStudy (mathmale):

In the cartesian coordinate plane you most often have a vertical axis and a horiz. axis. All numbers on either axis are real. When you're dealing with the complex plane, however, all numbers on the vertical axis are imaginary and all on the horiz. axis are real.

OpenStudy (kainui):

I was going to say yes, because a complex number is really just 2 real numbers. But it depends on how you interpret the question I guess.
