Have you access to a French-English dictionary? If not, do you know that there are some such dictionaries on the Internet? Regarding Comment est Jacques? -Bete -Intelligent -Brun That seems to read, "How is Jacques?" Why not look up Bete, Intelligent and Brun, and then decide for yourself which one is the best answer to the "How is Jac?" question.

OpenStudy (hahalolhelpme):

i look for native french speaker because dictionaries can be unreliable

OpenStudy (hahalolhelpme):

i drop french next sem. i just need pass this sem.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I'm totally deaf, and thus have never heard speakers of other languages. Yet I managed to learn enough German and Russian pronunciation so that native speakers can often understand me. Don't underestimate the value of a good dictionary. I'm asking you to look up the meaning of those French words, and assure you that in most cases the dictionary definition is entirely adequate.

OpenStudy (hahalolhelpme):

i always wonder about deaf people. i have such fascination toward those who disabled in ways such as that. yes i look up word meaning, but i too become deaf when listening to the recording and i hear the words, but not compute.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Comment est Jacques? -Bete what does Bete mean? I have no idea. Look it up. -Intelligent certainly our friend Jacques could be "intelligent." -Brun What does Brun mean? "dark-skinned?" Don't know. look it up. When you've finished this, choose the answer that makes the most sense.

OpenStudy (karim728):

bete is stupid

OpenStudy (mathmale):

some people may benefit from HEARING the words pronounced correctly in French. However, pronunciation is not in question here; rather, it's the MEANING of the words.

OpenStudy (karim728):

brun can mean marron or brown

OpenStudy (hahalolhelpme):

rip hair out my head. frustrate. lol. okay i just search elsewhere

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I disagree with "stupid" as a meaning of "bete." Karim: Please defend your answr. Just suppose that "bete" meant "fill" or "full." Does this make sense? "Jac is full." Does this make more, the same or less sense? "Jac is intelligent." And so on.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

OK. Jack is brown. Does that make sense? I'm brown too, but it's a very light brown. ;)

OpenStudy (hahalolhelpme):

thank you both for taking time in your day to help or attempt at helping.
