OpenStudy (tkhunny):

\(\dfrac{Total\;Change\;from\;y(0)\;to\;y(2)}{Total\;Change\;from\;0\;to\;2}\)

OpenStudy (imaguest):

Is this something I should graph? Because if so, I got 8/2 doing the rise over run thing

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

You're super close. Think about the direction of that "8". Positive or negative. Did it go up or down?

OpenStudy (imaguest):

Oh, so -8/2. My bad

OpenStudy (imaguest):

Ooooh, do I divide the -8 by 2?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

That's all there is to it. \(\dfrac{-6-2}{2-0} = \dfrac{-8}{2} = -4\)

OpenStudy (imaguest):

Alright, thank you!
