as the temperature rises the number of ice creams sold would tend to be greater, of course....

but its possible that  if say temperature = 70 one day we would  sell 100  but at temp of 70 another day we would sell say 120,  so that would mean its not a function.
A function cannot have  a one-to-many relationship.

I think its a relation only.
