Find the sum of the first 11 negative integers. S11 http://prntscr.com/dl5c6h

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

What's the 1st Negative Integer?

OpenStudy (not1it):

I'm not sure how do I find that out?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

That's a tough question. Where shall we start? I suppose the 1st MIGHT be considered -1 and the second -3, but that only makes a little sense.

OpenStudy (not1it):

I'm not understanding

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

What the first Positive integer?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Small wonder that you are not understanding. It is an unusual question that may not be well thought out. I THINK it means, add -1 + -3 + -5 + ... + -19 + -21

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

The first negative integer is minus one; -1, the second negative integer is minus two; -2, . . . the eleventh negative integer is minus eleven; -11.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Normally, we count things from the left. It is hard to do that with negative numbers. I dare you to find the left-most negative number. The second negative number is -2 if we count from the right. Not sure why I was thinking ODD. :-(
