Take a look at the Women's Rights problem. They could not vote, and their wages were lower than men's. What actions were taken to fix this problem and were they effective?

Women began protesting for their rights and for equality similar to how African americans fought for their equality. It was effective because if you look at the world we live in today you can see that women are given the same rights as men and they are treated equally

As @Panda said, the women began picketing in protest of their unequal rights. Oftentimes they were treated as a public disturbance; picketers were arrested, manhandled, treated as inferior beings, and thrown in prison. But eventually they won.
