Marie took public transportation to see her grandmother. Her train fare was $5.75, then she transferred to a bus, which cost $1.00. She didn't feel like walking from the bus stop to her grandmother's house, so she took a cab the rest of the way, which cost $12.50 plus a $3.50 tip. If she uses all of the same transportation on the way home, what will be the total cost of her round trip journey?

OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

@3mar i need ur help on this one instead lol

OpenStudy (jonspiro):

( 5.75+1+12.50) x 2= $38.5

OpenStudy (effinfon):

She should also pay the tip twice though: ( 5.75 +1 +12.50 +3.5) x 2 = $47.5

OpenStudy (welshfella):

that calculation is incorrect Correct total is $45.5

OpenStudy (jonspiro):

If she uses all of the same transportation on the way home, what will be the total cost of her round trip journey..the tip isnt part of the fare..the question is asking for the cost of the round trip..tip not inclusive
