this is an isosceles triangle what mean that these two angles of the base are equal so in this case you write 50 =2x x = 25 using this knowledges and you know that the sum of measure of angles of a triangle is equal 180 degrees - from this that the sum of angles of the base equal 100 so this mean thet this angle from the top is equal 80 making this expression of 5y+10 =80 result 5y = 70 y = 14 hope helped and that you understand the way how you get this answer easy
