What was the result when US troops fought Field Marshall Rommel’s Afrika Korps in the Battle of Kasserine Pass?

i'm going to guess that the US beat Rommel "The desert fox", because he was beaten after the US had allied with the "Desert Rats" (UK) in N Africa. Germany was probably denied a route to oil and fuel for its "panzers" or tanks and other bits.
