What is the interquartile range for the following set of numbers? 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 16, 16, 18, 20, 21, 25, 30, 31, 33, 36, 37, 40, 41
the IQR is Q3 - Q1
do u you have to find the median is the first step
It doesn't say anything about that but if you want to go ahead. c:
okay trust me i just learned this
well the median is 20
a cheat cheat is if the number are least to greatest take your finger and slowy move them at the same time 1 number at a number, and the last number you reach is the middle number which is the median
so to find the Q1 you add all the numbers before 20 a divided it by the toal number in that range before 20
Actually, the median isn't 20.
It's 19.
the toal added toget for q1 is 106
how so bob?
oh i see
When you count the numbers to the right of 20, it adds up to 9, but when you count the numbers to the left of 20, it adds up to 10. Kind of uneven, don't you think ?
i meessed up
stupid fingers
okay so we have 88
Bob swoops in and steals x'D
and divide that by 9 and u have 9.777778
so that is the q1
now Q3
294 divided by 9 is 32.666667
now you minus 9.77778 from that
simply use the interquartile range formula IQR = xU- xL
;)
*subtract not minus x'D
.o. ty
so IQR is 22.888889
Rounded to 23. I've gotta say, Husky's got it locked in.
:D thank you
ty so much >O<
