Try a haiku poem Japanese format Each verse has 3 lines They dont have to rhyme Syllabic count should be (or close to) 5 , 7 , 5 in each verse How about a 4 verse poem about the 4 seasons??

osprey:

If SapphireMoon, from OpenStudy, were here, that would help answer this question. "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" is my sad attempt at "inspiration"

celticcat:

Here's a haiku verse I wrote when I worked in the Middle East I never finished it . it was to be a poem with one verse for every season as I mentioned above - but i only managed Spring! Bud's soft explosion Bright chorus of wild flowers Green perceptions grow. - syllabic count is 5 , 7 , 5.

celticcat:

- try to add 3 more verses.

osprey:

there's the music of "The four seasons" vivaldi, is it ? Then there's shakespeare's "The ages of man" " these are the states of man today he puts forth the tender leaves of hopes tomorrow blossoms and bears its something honours upon him ..." Above is a HUGE misquote from part of the poem I vaguely remember.
