joshiscool:

@Ultrilliam

joshiscool:

Please help XD

Ultrilliam:

i'm eating lunch @JustSaiyan

joshiscool:

@celticcat can you help?

celticcat:

Its been a long time since I did these I believe that the coordinates change as below x coordinate ---> y y coordinate ----> -x so P' would be (4 , -3) Im not absolutely sure though

celticcat:

celticcat:

te translation is easier to solve look at the y coordinates - they go down 2 units while the x coordinates stay the same.

celticcat:

- that should give it to you

celticcat:

look at point A and A' y = -4 ---> y = -6 is a drop of 2 units down parallel to the y-axis.

joshiscool:

What was the answer again?

joshiscool:

http://prntscr.com/e6pbhg @celticcat

celticcat:

a dilation of 1/2 simply means that each line is reduced to 1/2 its size so the side length 7 changes to 1/2 * 7 which is 3 1/2

celticcat:

- so A'B' = 3 1/2

joshiscool:

Okay

joshiscool:

what about the 2nd and 3rd option

celticcat:

just perform the same process as with AB

joshiscool:

last one http://prntscr.com/e6pfqu

joshiscool:

@celticcat

joshiscool:

@theDeviliscoming

celticcat:

Hint find the measure of <y Remember that the 3 angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees so that m < y = 180 - 35 - 15 = ?

theDeviliscoming:

site is blocked

joshiscool:

130

joshiscool:

130

joshiscool:

130

joshiscool:

130

joshiscool:

130

celticcat:

right Now calculate the measure of <x in the other triangle What do you notice about the measures of the angles in the 2 triangles?

joshiscool:

im lost how do i do that

celticcat:

in the same way as you found y 180 - the measures of the other 2 angles

celticcat:

check the question

joshiscool:

can i see it written out?

joshiscool:

can i see it written out?

joshiscool:

celticcat:

??? all the info you need is in the question 'triangle ABC has angles 130 , x and 15'.

joshiscool:

well can i get the letter answer please my time is expiring

joshiscool:

@celticcat

celticcat:

x = 180 - 130 - 15

joshiscool:

35

joshiscool:

its not clear what the letter choice is

celticcat:

now look at the values of the angles in triangles ABC and DEF what do you notice ?

joshiscool:

A

celticcat:

ABC has angles 130,15 and 35 and DEF has what ?

joshiscool:

the same thing

celticcat:

right so the 2 triangles are similar so its C

celticcat:

I hope you have learned something in this post.

celticcat:

it cant be A or B because the triangles are similar and it cant be D because all 3 angles have to be equal for triangles to be similar
