beckyg:

Sun warms the earth by?

Pandora:

Do you have any guesses?

AMQ:

Does this have any choices?

moreso:

radiation would be my best hunch

slipknot3066:

radiation plasma or solar rays

celticcat:

if you mean what generates the heat in the sun its nuclear fusion

celticcat:

but the heat travels to the earth by radiation

beckyg:

Thanks Hun!!

Justin234:

hun here - The sun heats the earth through radiation. Since there is no medium (like the gas in our atmosphere) in space, radiation is the primary way that heat travels in space. When the heat reaches the earth it warms the molecules of the atmosphere, and they warm other molecules and so on.

Ultrilliam:

@Justin234 Nice explanation :) but some people might take offense to having some question they're baffled with being called a no-brainer; like, sound needs a medium such as air to travel through, but why doesn't heat or light? sound travels in a way that passes vibrations between molecules in a way like the telephone game; while the way light or heat can travel through 'nothing' is a more confusing concept

Justin234:

tru it might be confuseing for some ppl

Justin234:

but thanks :D

beckyg:

Okay then
