A helicopter tour company has found that the number of people that take their tour depends on the price charged per customer. The more the company charges for a tour, the fewer people decide to take the tour. The function c(x) = 50+5x represents price charged per customer where x is the number of $5 increases they charge over a rate of $80 per person. The function p(x) = 40−2x represents the number of customers expected for the day, where x is the number of $5 increases they charge over a rate of $80 per person. What does (p⋅c)(2) mean about the horse-drawn carriage tour company…
How much can the helicopter tour company expect to take in? ________________ How much will they charge the customer? ____________
I'm trying to get someone who can help, but it may be a little bit before they see the message I sent them, I apologize for the wait :|
(p⋅c)(2) = p(c(2)) but are you sure the question is phrased correctly? I am not sure where they got the "a rate of $80 per person" from?
p(c(2)) means that there were 2 $5 increases 50+5(2) = 60 p(60) which then means that there are 60 people to be expected for that day.
Yes it is
my second comment should help get you your answer ^_^
Thank you for explaining. 60 would be the answer correct?
hmm There are 2 $5 increases which correspond to an expected amount of 60 people for the day. > just don't forget the units :)
Thank you so much!
