psirockin2:

Can I get some help with my English portfolio please?

psirockin2:

In 200-250 words, describe the picture as an outside observer, or as someone (seen or unseen) in the photo Use word choices to create a mood; the reader should be able to get some impression of you Must include: at least one detail for each of the 5 senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) one simile (compares two unlike things using like or as.) one metaphor (compares two unlike things without using those 2 words)

psirockin2:

I understand the concept, I'm just not very good at righting this out and not sounding bored

Pandora:

Hrmmm, have you got anything written for this yet?

psirockin2:

I've been trying to think of how. I have something for sight, "People who are fed up and want change". Sound would be "The chants of the people" but what do the teachers want for taste and smell? I think once I get the rest of the sentences I can write the simile and metaphor

psirockin2:

senses not sentences

Pandora:

I think you could bring a metaphor in with the description for sight. Maybe something like raging waves rioting?

Pandora:

All I can think of for smell is sweaty people tbh. x'D

psirockin2:

So like The people are fed up with the regime. Their rage is like the crashing waves of an ocean, becoming big enough to take it down.

psirockin2:

CRAP THAT'S A SIMILE I can write similes, why can't I write metaphors?

Pandora:

You can use a simile as well, but we'll have to find something else to use as a metaphor.

Pandora:

Hrmm, maybe try being more descriptive about how close they are... Maybe something like they brush up violently against one another, nearly crushing one another.

psirockin2:

Alright, thanks Pandora

Pandora:

Ah, right... Let me know if you want me to delete any replies haha.

psirockin2:

could you delete the angry tide one? I'm afraid they'll use Turnitin and it'll come up flagged

psirockin2:

sorry

Pandora:

Want me to delete the initial directions as well?
