Television screens are measured along the diagonal. A certain 53-inch television is 45 inches wide. Which measurement represents the length of the hypotenuse?
Diagonal side is always the longest so, the number for they hypotenuse is 53.
Psi is catching all these new people xD
Hero is typing something long, i can tell
i am in trouble
No... Most likely I'm in trouble for not explaining why the diagonal side is longest
@psirockin3 remember to give the asker the opportunity to figure out the answer himself first. In other words, the goal isn't to be the first person to answer the question. The goal is to get the user to figure out how to answer to the problem him or herself. We merely act as GUIDES mostly.
^yep
Yes sir... but what about people who post a question and just leave?
i hate those ppl ಠ_ಠ TROLLERS
I say don't answer their question at all. Say: "what do you think it is", and there
If they don't answer, well, we all know.
We're working on a few features. One feature is for users, when offline, the helper should tag the user. Once tagged, the asker will receive an email alerting them that someone has responded to their question.
I wouldn't like that. My email is full enough....
Maybe an option for new users?
@Eiwoh2 yeah, but most those emails you don't read are ones you don't really care about. If you genuinely are looking for help or guidance with a problem and you happen to go offline, it would be convenient if you received an alert when someone on QC responded to your question.
;-; hm.
Most likely they'd ignore it and think it was a suspension notification (Like the ones you'd get off OS from Satan and Satan's wife)
@psirockin3 obviously, the subject line would read something like " @psirockin3 has just responded to your question" rather than "Suspension Notification".
oh... good point.
XD
I love how we just turned this question into some sort of discussion XD, can you close it now, @Hero ?
I'm guessing his repply isn't just going to be "sure"
Yep. Definetely not a simple word and action
All the posts should be discussions, except in this case, we ideally would want it to be about mathematics in a perfect world. But this is not a perfect world and some of the helpers go off on a tangent and start deviating from the script, making up their own as they go along. We need to have discussions to bring things back to proper order. Without proper discussion, chaos manifests.
yeah but this has nothing to do with the math question asked. :\
Read what I posted nine more times until you have understood it fully.
(leaves)
Happy now?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
