\[(\color{Red}{-4},\color{blue}{8}) \rightarrow (\color{Red}{x}, \color{blue}{y}) \] the first number represent the x-coordinate value (red) the 2nd number in the order pair represent the y-coordinate (blue) First replace x and y with their values \[(\color{red}{x}-3,\color{blue}{y}-5)\] subtract 3 from x subtract 5 from y that will give you the new point (x,y)
