After President Wilson was instrumental in getting the Treaty of Versailles passed, why did Congress reject the treaty altogether? Congress did not like the League of Nations. It did not think the treaty punished Germany enough. It might require U.S. troops to fight in foreign wars. Congress wanted more economic concessions.
