The graph shows the amount of global warming happening in different ecosystems. Which populations of organisms will likely decline the most as a result of climate change, and why? Coral reefs because of the loss of the symbiotic algae living within their bodies Penguin populations because the fish they eat will move into warmer waters Mountain-dwelling birds because rising sea levels will relocate their food sources Large cats in the rainforest because of decreased habitat loss for their prey

SourMunchkin7806:

Thanks

Arcadiouse:

Ok, so how you look at this graph is see what has the most percentage contributing. So, Ocean, Continents and Atmosphere. We know that the atmosphere doesn't have an ecosystem so we can rule that out.

Arcadiouse:

So, now we have ocean and continents. Ocean has a 93% contribution and continents is a 2.1%. If we were to look at the answers, A and D seem to make sense as the most contributing is Ocean and Continents.

SourMunchkin7806:

Ok i have a few more can you help with those too

Arcadiouse:

Sure thing!

Arcadiouse:

God, that first one is still iffy to be but I a quite certain it is A or B. It is just odd how they did the graph lmao.

Arcadiouse:

A or D*

SourMunchkin7806:

I am gonna go with A

Arcadiouse:

I would have chose that too.

SourMunchkin7806:

The graph shows the change in seabird mortality rates in New Zealand waters due to illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (IUU) and the implementation of bycatch remediation measures in 2004. These data show only a small sample of the world's oceans. Based upon these data, what prediction can be made if the same type of bycatch remediation measures were implemented worldwide? Global use of streamers and other devices could dramatically reduce the number of birds caught. Illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing practices would continue to cause large numbers of birds to be caught. Legal fishing practices would interfere with the technologies used because it costs far too much money. The number of birds caught would greatly increase because more countries would participate in open water fishing.

SourMunchkin7806:

Arcadiouse:

I would say A, as the graph shows all of the lines declining at 2004, and that is the year they implemented it. The rest are wrong because they say it would increase.

SourMunchkin7806:

Gyres are rotating currents that cause marine debris to collect in certain areas of the ocean. What impact does this have on marine life? Chemicals cause photosynthesis to increase. More pristine living space is created. Plastics accumulate in the food chain. There is reduced light at the surface.

Arcadiouse:

What do you think?

SourMunchkin7806:

I was thinking C but a few other things i have read are saying a bunch of different stuff but none are on there options

Arcadiouse:

Ok, so. I would agree with C the most as a gyre tends do add plastics because of degradation. The only thing that stumped me for a bit was the creation of pristine areas, but then I reread the question and it said about the marine life not ocean.

SourMunchkin7806:

Which of the following has a positive effect by acting as an artificial reef in some areas? Undersea cables Fisheries management zones Wind turbines Unexploded ordnances

Arcadiouse:

What do you think?

SourMunchkin7806:

C

Arcadiouse:

I actually think that A and C are correct. I agree with them the same sadly. Undersea cables are usually probably used more as they cover more area and are open. But then again turbines are an area. Only problem with turbines is that theres no room to make a reef, only things that attach can live on those.

SourMunchkin7806:

So A?

Arcadiouse:

Myself, I would choose A.

SourMunchkin7806:

ok jsut a few more

SourMunchkin7806:

The graph shows the findings of a study commissioned by a group of marine policy makers. What should these people do to determine the economic impact of a reduced crab fishery in the area? They should extend the years of the projection further. They should measure the actual amount of acidification. They should study the overall yield over time. They should calculate the cost of the water cleanup.

SourMunchkin7806:

I think this one is B

Arcadiouse:

I agree.

SourMunchkin7806:

ok just like 5 more

SourMunchkin7806:

This image shows objects trailing behind a fishing boat. How does the method reduce the amount of bird bycatch by fishing boats? The color of the objects distracts the birds from the fish so the fishermen can pull in the nets. The movement of the objects in the water scares the birds away. The objects create an electrical charge that stuns the birds before they get to the fish. The objects smell like fish, which attracts the birds to them instead of the nets.

SourMunchkin7806:

SourMunchkin7806:

i think this one is A or B

Arcadiouse:

Honestly, its not A because it doesn't tell you what color.

Arcadiouse:

I think it is B also.

SourMunchkin7806:

What is an advantage of using lobster casitas? They improve economic conditions. They increase the lobster population. They prevent diving accidents. They reduce predation on small fish.

SourMunchkin7806:

D?

Arcadiouse:

Honestly, I don't know. Never knew what it was. I would say D If I were to guess.

SourMunchkin7806:

E.O. Wilson said, "The wealth of the world, if measured by domestic product and per-capita consumption, is rising. But if calculated from the condition of the biosphere, it is falling." What did he mean by this statement? As economies and populations grow, they use more natural resources. As economies and populations decline, they use more natural resources. The condition of the Earth is improving due to increased funding from many countries. The living conditions on Earth are improving due to increased economic consumption.

SourMunchkin7806:

i dont even know this one

Arcadiouse:

A

SourMunchkin7806:

ok just two more and these i need major help

SourMunchkin7806:

The illustration shows one of the ways resources are removed from the deep sea. Describe what type of resources these are, including if they are renewable or non-renewable. Predict two consequences to the seafloor life if this process is not regulated.

Arcadiouse:

Basically he is saying that populations are growing, but the biosphere is declining. and A states that.

SourMunchkin7806:

oh ok i gotya

SourMunchkin7806:

this actually my last one my bad

Arcadiouse:

Ok.

Arcadiouse:

These are non renewable. The reason they are non renewable is because they are materials and minerals that will take a long time to form/.
