What do you need help with?
Ratios
Post your problem please
Ok
The ratio of a clownfish to angelfish at the pet store is 5:4. How many goldfish are there?
Is it a whole number or ratio?
it is asking for a number of goldfish so the answer must be a whole number but I am not sure how to answer using the information given, is there anything else included?
There is: the ratio of angelfish to goldfish is 4:3. There is 60 clown fish at the pet store
clownfish to angelfish at the pet store is 5:4 for 60 clownfish the ratio tells us that, for every 5 clownfish, there are 4 angelfish any ideas how we can find the number of angelfish?
My teacher taught us how to do the model draw So I idk I'll try again on my paper
well, try imagining putting the clownfish into groups of 5 how many groups of 5 clownfish can we make from 60 clownfish?
12
awesome! so we have 12 groups of 5 clownfish the ratio tells us that for every group of 5 clownfish, there are 4 angelfish so angelfish = 4*12 = 48 [not done yet]
now, the ratio of angelfish to goldfish is 4:3. for every group of 4 angelfish there are 3 goldfish so let's try putting the 48 angelfish into groups of 4. how many groups are there?
Wait for the problem it's 2 questions
A how many angelfish are there and how many goldfish are there
ok, but let's get back to our question

Uhm 12?
awesome! so there are 12 groups of 4 angelfish so for every group of 4 angelfish there are 3 clownfish giving us 3*12 = 36 clownfish
so angelfish = 48 clownfish = 36 that's it
OMG thank you so much!!! You saved my grade :)
hold on made a quick typo, should be 48 angelfish and 36 goldfish
but yeah the math is still right
