Vocaloid:

so I would presume you calculated the slope as 2 now we can pick one of our points and substitute that into y = mx + b if (0,6) becomes our (x,y) then 6 = 0(2) + b what does b equal?

zarkam21:

well 0+b

Vocaloid:

good, and if 0 + b = 6 what does b have to be?

zarkam21:

6

zarkam21:

QUICK QUESTION THOUGH

Vocaloid:

good so your eq. is y = 2x + 6 (D)

Vocaloid:

yeah what's up

zarkam21:

I thought that if for example a point is (0,3) and slope of 5 the equation would be y-3=5(x+0)

zarkam21:

Oh I would use the distributive property right?

Vocaloid:

yeah that's another way to do it, it should give you the same answer

zarkam21:

That may be the point I am missing

zarkam21:

But the final answer will be with the number all distributed right

Vocaloid:

yes, you would distribute and then convert back to point slope form

zarkam21:

Okay thanks
