zarkam21:

Need help If I have a equation d=m/v How do I rearrange this so it can be v=

SourMunchkin7806:

give me some numbers for mass and volume just pick 2 numbers

zarkam21:

Actually here is the actual problem

zarkam21:

A block of wood has a density of 4.0g/cm and a mass of 15g. What is the volume of the block?

SourMunchkin7806:

gimme a sec

SourMunchkin7806:

Well look so we know that 15 divided by 3 is 5 right?

zarkam21:

right

SourMunchkin7806:

so whats 15 divided by 4

zarkam21:

3.7

SourMunchkin7806:

there you go

zarkam21:

so the formula in letters wold be

zarkam21:

m/d=v

SourMunchkin7806:

thats the answer to the problem...cause if we plug that into the problem m/d=v 15/4=3.75...now to test it we put the 3.75 into the original problem to find the density m/v=d 15/3.75=4
