"Genetically engineered plants" means we are changing their DNA to improve things like pest resistance, crop yield, etc. So that way people can eat vegetables and not get poisoned. They put pest pesticide on the vegetables they crop so they can kill the bacteria and the bugs that go on top.So when we buy them from the store we always want to clean them what water really good before severing it to others

For the second question, Yes I would eat the crop food they grow because without vegetables we won't have vitamins in our body. We won't grow healthy and strong. IF we eat junk food all our life we can cause cancer in our body.
