So the topic is arithmetic and sequences

zarkam21:

I understood up to a1 a2 an etc etc

zarkam21:

but when it came to this practice problem just don't get it

Vocaloid:

first term just means n = 1

Vocaloid:

so calculate (n+1)/n for n = 1

zarkam21:

so 2/1

Vocaloid:

good, and that equals 2

Vocaloid:

for the tenth term just do the same thing for n = 10

zarkam21:

11/10

Vocaloid:

good, so 2 and 11/10 is your answer

Just to double check

zarkam21:

1/4 6 1/7

zarkam21:

@Vocaloid

Vocaloid:

1/4 is right, let's redo the others

zarkam21:

okay

Vocaloid:

if 1/(n+3) = 1/6 what does n equal?

zarkam21:

3

Vocaloid:

good so the second blank is "third" term

zarkam21:

and I know the 3rd is 1/10 I re-did it

Vocaloid:

good, 1/10 is right
