Well, the Aztec number system was very advanced. The aztecs were excellent at mathematics and sciences. They made a calendar and they also had astronomy as a heavy reliance on their calendar.

The empire was never integrated. It always had a local ruler. The tribe was a lot of times at war, which was bad for the tribe itself.
