Hi there! Welcome to QuestionCove! Bare in mind that Dubai is surrounded by bodies of saltwater, therefore they do not have access to freshwater. The technology of desalination allows for those who live in Dubai to get freshwater from the bodies of saltwater that surround it. Desalination is the process of removing minerals such as salt from water. Another challenge that Dubai faces is extreme heat, temperatures in Dubai can rise up to above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The invention of air conditioning has helped overcome the heat. Although the downside is, many may not be able to afford it. Same problem with desalination.
