Read these sentences from "The Cask of Amontillado." Its walls had been lined with human remains, piled to the vault overhead, in the fashion of the great catacombs of Paris. Three sides of this interior crypt were still ornamented in this manner. How does the author create surprise in these sentences? by using a flashback to describe the original purpose of the crypts by revealing shocking information about the catacombs by withholding information about Montresor's plan by using the plies of human remains to foreshadow Fortunato's fate
@Shadow
d maybe i read this in 9th grade lol
Well d is true, but I don't think it's used to create 'surprise'. I think the demented, dark imagery of the human remains and stuff that decorate the catacombs would surprise the reader the most. Therefore I would go with B.
like i said it's been 9th grade since i read this lol
