@sillybilly123 I calculated my eigenvalues as 7 and 1 but my C matrix isn't right :S

my attempt: I calculated the eigenvalues and then applied the A - I*lambda operation, then row reduced and wrote the result in parametric vector form. any pointers where I might have messed up?

you made a typo. the eigenvector for lambda = 7 is <1,1>

correct that and you're good
