Well, slavery lasted so long because it took a while to get all the laws in place to stop slavery, and then mock laws like Jim Crow Laws worked hard to revert what the government was doing. They made it where it was hard for African Americans to vote, learn and more. I think slavery could exist today, it is still existing today. It would only exist in countries where there is no laws about it. It would never happen in Europe or the Americas because there is laws. But it can and is happening in certain third world countries.
