The idea of civil disobedience is basically protesting as we had today, only in this era, examples would be protesting, sit-ins, and the freedom rides, would all be examples of civil disobedience. Not violent, just disobedient. African Americans used this tactic during the civil rights movement in an attempt to get equal rights.
