Well what is the general equation of a line?

sorry I was out shopping and meant to get to this earlier first find the slope of –x + 5y = 14 by re-writing into y = mx + b form (the coefficient in front of y needs to be 1) then take that slope as m and find the opposite reciprocal (-1/m) and then plug this into the point-slope equation
